 | Travel - I have traveled for diving nearly twice around the
world. I also enjoy travel, just for travel sake. In
January I went to Mexico to take a two seek
Spanish Immersion class. |
 | Photography - I have been taking pictures since my first
Brownie Kodak camera was left under the Christmas tree when I was 7.
My father had worked for 20th Century Fox and was a home movie photographer
when home cameras for this were 16 mm wind up models (I still have
this camera and made an underwater housing for it once). I have
now entered the digital still and video era and still find there is
more to learn. |
 | Reading - It sort of comes with the territory that if you
travel a lot you read a lot. I read for relaxation and "escape".
Some of my favorite authors are:
 |
Clive Cussler (who Ralph Erickson, one of the founders of PADI,
introduced me to years ago). Cussler is a diver and his heroes
always do some diving in the course of the action. |
 | John Grisham
- because legal stuff has always interested me. |
 |
Tom Clancy
- because I also like larger than life heroes who provide pure
escape. |
 | Eric Douglas
- a relative newcomer who writes action adventure
novels featuring a diving news photographer. Eric
is also the training director of
DAN (Divers Alert
Network). |
|
 | Writing - I have spent part of my summer writing a novel.
It has been purchased for publication by a major publishing house and
should be on the book shelves soon. I am very excited about this
and hope you will enjoy reading it. I will keep you informed. |
 | Snow Skiing - I am not a good skier but I really enjoy
skiing at Bridger Bowl Montana - near my home town of Butte.
Unfortunately I have not been able to get back there for a couple of
years - maybe this February. If this interests you let's
talk. |
 | Golf - A few years ago I took up golf. I like
it but right now I do not have any golf buddies so have mostly spent
my time on driving ranges just hitting balls. |
