Welcome to 2011. Wow a whole decade of our new
century is behind us. It hardly seems possible that the time
has gone by so quickly. I for one have see a lot of
changes. Ten years ago I owed ASK Scuba and Snorkeling Center.
At the start of the century I also bought my house. I still
own the house, but I sold the dive store five years ago. In the
years after selling I did a lot of traveling (some photos from my trips
are on my Photo Gallery page). I wrote
and published two novels (see below) and then I opened a bakery.
The bakery - Shawnee Hills
Bakery - celebrates its second anniversary this month. What a
ride.
Unfortunately, the bakery has occupied so much of
my time that I have not done a lot of diving lately. That,
hopefully, will change in 2011. I am planning a trip to
Bonaire with my friend Leesa Wiesner of
Aquarius Dive Travel
and we are working on a return to Truk Lagoon. The Truk trip
will probably be in 2012. If you are interested in either of
these trips please drop me a line at my
Scuba
Lady email address.
In the meantime I wish you a Happy New Year and
good diving.

My two novels are still selling well, although the
royalties are not on a par with other novelists, I am certain.
And, I have an outline and a start for the next book in the Darla and
Claude series. Stay tuned for that one.
The second book
in the Darla Moore and Claude Johnson mystery series follows the
couple and their friends as the search for The Jaguar. This
person, known as The Jaguar
is responsible for the transportation and sale of stolen Mexican
artifacts. The trail leads them and their friend Carlos Morales, FrancoDe Paz and AndreaWhitehead to the village of
Hopkins in Belize. There they encounter
the mysterious Angie and an even greater mystery; how stolen museum pieces from the Mid-East
ended up on the ocean floor. The search crosses the Atlantic and back again and leads the group to the wreckage of a once-proud ship
and a life-threatening encounter at two hundred feet below the sea.
The Stela Passageway
In The Stela Passageway the characters are divers and archeologists who happen upon a
document in a cave in the Yucatan."For Darla Moore and her
dive buddies Claude Johnson and Carlos Morales, it was just another cave
dive. Then, their team discovered the Stela Passageway and a document that
would change the way the world viewed the Mayans and the Spanish Church’s
involvement in the Mexican Yucatan.
After they enlist the help of Mayan experts Franco De Paz and
Andrea Whitehead, their search for the truth takes as many turns as the
caverns they end up exploring. Deciphering the journal from 1518 proves to
be both a challenge and a mystery. Their quest is further complicated by
Carlos’ father, who does not believe the journal should ever be made public
because of its volatile content. There is also the question of proving that
the journal is authentic. When the team tries to recover more evidence from
the cave to prove their claims, things turn deadly…"
Comments about the
Stela Passageway:
The Stela Passageway was amazing I am forced to get the next book it is just
so great.
I hope you are having a good week.
Your dive buddy,
John G.
The Stela Passage kept me wanting to
turn the page to find out what was
coming next. It gave a glimpse of the author's depth of knowledge of
the Yucatan Area of Mexico and the Mayan culture, today and times long ago.
I liked it and will read whatever comes next! Karen L.
Just wanted to pass on my opinion of the book - FANTASTIC! I DIDN'T WANT IT
TO END... Read it while in Cayman and couldn't put it down. Keep writing and
let me know when the next one is available.
All the best,
Jeff G
